A First-Timer's Route Through Hyundai Outlet Dongdaemun

Hyundai Outlet Dongdaemun reopened in stages in October 2026 with a new B1F lounge, Korean fashion floors, and a B2F food zone called COOKS DONGDAEMUN; here is a floor-by-floor route from Exit 13.

Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station, Exit 13, sits about six minutes from the front door of Hyundai Outlet Dongdaemun. Walk straight ahead toward the OLIVE YOUNG storefront, turn right once it is in front of you, and keep going along the road until the Hyundai City Outlet sign comes into view. Exit 8 of Dongdaemun Station on Lines 1 and 4 works too, at roughly five minutes. The mall runs 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 9:30 p.m. on weekends, though individual restaurant hours vary by tenant, according to Creatrip's English-language guide to the outlet, which says the mall reopened in stages under the concept "PLAY ON, DONGDAEMUN" in October 2026 after renovations.

Start underground. The new Customer Service Lounge on B1F anchors the whole visit: it hands out floor maps, rents strollers at the service desk, and sits next to a bank of luggage lockers. Small lockers run from 1,000 won an hour, medium from 2,000 won, large from 3,000 won, and the kiosks take cards only, no cash, with menus in Japanese, English, and Chinese. Drop a suitcase or a jacket there before heading into the shops, so the rest of the visit happens hands-free.

From the lounge, B1F also holds the bulk of the new Korean fashion brands added in the renovation. RAIVE sells vintage-leaning womenswear that Creatrip notes has shown up in K-pop idols' airport outfits. BROWNBREATH covers unisex streetwear, graphic tees, hoodies, and backpacks sized for oversized layering, and buyers there currently get an ALPHADRIVEONE photo card with qualifying purchases, though the threshold and stock are worth confirming in-store. PINK FLAG stocks a wide spread of trend pieces from girly to casual. HAGO HAUS curates designer labels that mostly sell online, with some items discounted up to 50 percent depending on promotions. LOEUVRE leans into French-chic leather bags and tailored pieces, and LUMIEREVAN specializes in understated, office-ready silhouettes.

Take the escalator up to 2F for SEOUL EDITION, marked by a neon sign, an orange color scheme, and a record player at the entrance where visitors can sit and listen to music. The floor mixes beauty and lifestyle retail, including an OLIVE YOUNG location, with K-pop merchandise shops and a few dining and hands-on experience spaces built into the same footprint.

Head back down to B2F for COOKS DONGDAEMUN, the food zone that held its grand opening in October 2026 and takes its cues from the energy of Dongdaemun's markets. Samsong Bakery, founded in Daegu in 1957, sells a corn-and-cream bun nicknamed "drug bread" for how addictive regulars find it. TERAROSA COFFEE, a roastery that grew out of Gangneung, Korea's self-styled coffee capital, serves hand-drip cups made from green beans it roasts in house. For a full meal, Doson Kaisen plates seafood rice bowls from the team behind Sushi Doson, led by a chef trained at the Shilla Hotel, and Katsu Hesed pairs thick-cut tonkatsu with Korea's spicy cream Toomba Pasta. bhc Chicken serves its Prinkle flavor, a sweet and savory cheese-powder coating, alongside standard fried chicken. Rounding out the floor: Ekinomae Bakery from Incheon's Bupyeong district, Mysterious Candy Shop for global and retro sweets, SEASON DROPS for fruit sandwiches and fresh juice, Marugame Udon, Gusa Okonomiyaki, Inamjang for seolleongtang with mandu, Ehorak for bulgogi and bossam set meals, and Cuchara for build-your-own burritos and bowls.

If there's time left, the ninth floor has Cheongmildang, a set-meal restaurant serving barley rice with more than ten side dishes in a calmer room than the basement food court offers. On the ground floor, Starbucks opens at 7 a.m., ahead of the mall's 10:30 a.m. start, through its own exterior entrance rather than the main mall doors.

Close the loop back at the B1F lounge. Bring a passport and the tax refund receipts from each store where a single purchase hit 15,000 won or more; a staffed counter and self-service kiosks handle the paperwork, in multiple languages, though some refund methods still require a final step at the airport. The same lounge has a repacking zone with a luggage scale, so shopping bags can go straight into a suitcase before the walk back to the subway exit.
