Privacy and cookies

Planning a trip should not cost you your details. Here is what happens when you open a guide on this site.

Cookies from Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4. Google's cookies tell us the pages you open, your device and browser, where you came from, which outside links you click (a booking page, for example), and roughly where you are, as estimated by Google. That shows us which city and neighborhood guides travellers rely on, so we know what to recheck and what to add. You can refuse these cookies in your browser or turn the tracking off with Google's opt-out add-on. Google explains its side in its privacy policy.

Hosting logs

Like any web host, ours logs each request with details such as the time, the URL and the user agent, for security and to keep pages loading.

Search and AI crawlers

We keep our own list of crawler visits, sorted by the user agent each bot sends. It has three columns: bot, page path, time. People browsing the site never appear on it, and it holds no IP addresses.
