Seoul's boutique hotels split cleanly by neighborhood, and the deciding factor is what the trip needs first: nightlife and art favor Hongdae, shopping and skyline views favor Myeongdong, international dining favors Itaewon, and palace-adjacent culture or design-forward suites favor Jongno. On the Jongno/Dongdaemun edge, Long Weekend Haus DDP is a 12-suite property with a self-check-in kiosk, useful for guests landing after midnight, starting from ₩306,000 a night on its flexible rate (official site, checked 2026-09-19). RYSE, Autograph Collection sits 300 meters from Exit 9 of Hongik University Station in Hongdae, with rooms from $145 a night (Kayak, checked 2026-09-21). L7 Myeongdong by Lotte, Rakkojae Seoul, IP Boutique Hotel Itaewon and Hotel Indigo Seoul Insadong round out the six properties compared below, matched to the neighborhood and party shape each one actually fits.

RYSE, Autograph Collection

RYSE, Autograph Collection sits 300 meters (984 feet by a separate listing) from Exit 9 of Hongik University Subway Station in Hongdae, spans 272 rooms, and its King room sleeps up to 3 guests from $145 a night on Kayak for a Fri-Sat stay, checked 2026-09-21.

The property replaces a standard gift shop with a skateboard shop and a multi-level streetwear retail space, plus a mini theater for private screenings. Its 15th-floor rooftop bar, Side Note Club, holds a collection of more than 1,000 vinyl records across eras and genres and hosts DJ sets and live performances; a Blue Bottle Coffee pop-up serves pour-over in the lobby, and Artist Suite 1505 is a themed room run in collaboration with Manhattan Records Seoul. Rooms include Bluetooth speakers, a safety deposit box and a walk-in rain shower; the Editor King Room measures 409 square feet and sleeps 3, while the Producer Suite reaches 640 square feet.

Long Weekend Haus DDP occupies 15-3 Ssangnim-dong, Jung-gu, on the Jongno/Dongdaemun edge near Dongdaemun Design Plaza, with 12 suites across seven layouts, and its Garden Suite sleeps 2 (max 4) in 36 square meters from ₩306,000 a night on the flexible rate, official site, checked 2026-09-19.

The building runs a self-check-in kiosk instead of a staffed front desk, so guests who land at Incheon after midnight or clear a late flight do not need to time their arrival around a lobby's operating hours. All 12 rooms are non-smoking, Wi-Fi is free throughout, and the flexible rate cancels free up to 14 days before check-in; a non-refundable rate runs lower for guests who have already fixed their dates. Extra guests beyond a room's base occupancy add ₩10,000 per person per night, and stays of 3 or more nights receive a 10% long-stay discount. The company behind the property, 주식회사 롱위켄드하우스 (Long Weekend Haus Inc.), lists Seoul as its area served on the same official page.

Two couples who want separate bedrooms instead of a shared room fit the 202 Maru Suite, 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 6 across 44 square meters, and a family of up to eight fits the 702 Penthouse, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms across 69 square meters. Trip.com lists the property at a 9.5/10 aggregate from 66 reviews, checked September 2026, and both the official site and Trip.com list the property under the operating model of a serviced, apartment-style boutique stay, not a private short-term rental.

L7 Myeongdong by Lotte

A few minutes' walk from Exit 9 of Myeongdong Subway Station, with airport limousine buses 6001 and 6015 stopping less than 50 meters from the entrance, L7 Myeongdong by Lotte's Superior Family Twin Church View room sleeps 3 in 270 square feet from $153 a night for a Jun 30-Jul 1 stay, Hotels.com, checked 2026.

The 251-room, 21-floor property draws its interior direction from Jeju Island, keeps every room smoke-free, and stocks Malin+Goetz toiletries in full-size bottles, though the hotel has posted notice that toothbrushes and toothpaste are no longer provided free and must instead be bought at the third-floor MAXIBAR. The rooftop bar, Floating, sits on the 21st floor alongside a complimentary foot spa with panoramic city views, and the fitness center runs Technogym equipment. Standard rooms have shower-only bathrooms with no bathtub, and there is no in-room kitchen or kitchenette in any listed category.

Set inside Bukchon Hanok Village in Jongno-gu, roughly 0.2 miles from the village center by one aggregator's distance figure, Rakkojae Seoul Bukchon Hanok Village holds 5 guestrooms with a stated maximum occupancy of 13, priced from ₩190,000 a night as the lowest listed rate on the Korea Tourism Organization's own record.

The main hanok compound dates back 130 years and was renovated by a master carpenter before opening as a hotel in 2003; rooms sit in a square layout around a courtyard and include a master bedroom, an opposite room, a pavilion room and an annex. Guests sleep on traditional ondol floor bedding, not Western-style beds, and the Korea Tourism Organization's listing confirms the property has no in-room kitchen. The separate Patio Room, a smaller hanok unit sleeping a maximum of 2, adds a minibar, a Nespresso machine, tea facilities and a bathtub with London-based Aromatherapy Associates amenities. Check-in runs 15:00 to 20:00 and check-out is 11:00, and certain sections of Bukchon are closed to general tourist foot traffic between 5 PM and 10 AM under village preservation rules, though hotel guests retain access at all hours.

Reservations run directly through the property by email instead of through third-party booking platforms, which the owner has stated on Tripadvisor, so a single published nightly rate for a specific date is not part of the public listing; cultural programming on site includes tea ceremony, jjimjilbang, royal-robe rental and kimchi-making sessions.

IP Boutique Hotel Itaewon

IP Boutique Hotel Itaewon, operating today as Imperial Palace Boutique Hotel since a 2019 rebrand, stands 1,312 feet from Itaewon Station with 133 rooms across ten categories, and its Superior Double Room sleeps 2 in 25 square meters from £79 a night for a Feb 15-16 stay, Hotels.com, checked 2026.

The building is known for a playful Lego-style colored-glass facade designed by a Hongik University design professor, and the interior extends the theme throughout: green cushions on low-hanging swings, cross-shaped white vinyl couches, Japanese mixed-media art by Shintaro Ohata in the lobby, and an elevator shaped like a giant suitcase up to the guest floors. One of the property's four suites includes a kitchenette with a stovetop, refrigerator, kitchenware and microwave, and the King Suite separates a living room with a king bed from a bathroom with a large spa-function bathtub. Every room's bathroom uses glass fixtures, from showers to sinks and faucets, and reviewers note sound-activated bathroom lighting.
