Between those two poles sit a meditation-themed sister property, a family-run budget guesthouse, a hanok-and-Western hybrid, and a design-forward hotel with both private and shared rooms.

Bonum 1957 Hanok Stay and Hotel, at the entrance to Bukchon Hanok Village near Anguk Station, pairs a renovated hanok with an adjoining Western-style house and appears in the comparison table below alongside the other five, not as its own section. The properties cluster around Jongno-gu's Bukchon and Gwanghwamun neighborhoods, with Long Weekend Haus DDP the outlier in Dongdaemun near Euljiro, so location on the map matters as much as the room itself.

The compound is built as a 'ぱ' shape house, a 'だ' shape house and a single-unit patio-style house around a shared courtyard, and named rooms include a Far Bedroom and a Patio Room. Ondol heated floors and Hanji paper walls sit alongside antique furniture and ensuite bathrooms with a bathtub and shower.

Guests get a complimentary traditional Korean breakfast, access to a natural mud sauna, and a tea ceremony in the property's Culture Lounge. Check-in runs from 2:00 PM and check-out is before 12:00 PM, and the property's own listing notes that any reservation is canceled if a weather warning such as a heatwave advisory is issued for Seoul.

Every other suite runs from a 32-square-meter Terrace Suite up to a 44-square-meter Maru Suite with 2 bedrooms. Extra guests beyond a room's base occupancy add ₩10,000 per person per night, and stays of 3 nights or more receive a 10 percent discount.

Check-in is 15:00 and check-out 11:00, handled through a self-check-in kiosk instead of a staffed front desk, and all rooms are non-smoking with free Wi-Fi. The Kim family has run the property for more than 30 years from a two-storey hanok positioned on a hill between the second and third of the eight scenic views of Bukchon. Guests can join kimchi-making sessions or try on traditional Korean clothing, and the guesthouse is rated 8.8 out of 10 on one booking platform.
